Full Sizes Mattresses
One of the biggest mistakes a new mattress buyer or sometimes a seasoned one, is buying one that is too small,
and sometimes too big. Married couples that have slept on a full size mattress or sometimes called a double
mattress, think it is just fine. Many do not and want a larger one.
Full sizes mattresses are usually about fifty three inches wide; this is only fifteen inches wider than a twin
size or single mattress. Each partner has only approximately twenty seven inches for their sleep area. Look at it
like you would a baby’s crib, that’s the room one partner has. Full sizes mattresses are bout seventy five feet
long which is too short for most men.
Typical full sizes mattresses are made for someone that is about five feet, five inches tall, or shorter. Many
parents today are buying the full sizes mattresses for their children, such as the teenagers and small children.
They do this so they will have a comfortable place to read to the little ones at bedtime. Many will buy full sizes
mattresses for a guest room, as they want their guests to be somewhat comfortable.
Full sizes mattresses are just fine for single people, but may have to buy them extra long for tall people. They
cost less than a queen sized mattress, not to mention the bed linen would be less expensive. Some will buy full
sized mattresses that have a pillow top on them. These are an extra two inches higher than one without. Some feel
they sleep better on these and will spend the extra money.
Some will stick with the old full sizes mattresses that have the quilted top. These are usually made of foam and
are about seven inches high with the point five inch quilt foam. Others like the full sizes mattresses called Visco
as these have an eight inch height and come with the comfortable towel cover velour and a non skid bottom.
There are full sizes mattresses that are the foam, or spring back kind. It has four point five inch polyfilax
top and a good fabric cover. These will last up to thirty years and does have a limited warranty. They are
hypo-allergenic and dust free; great for one that has allergies. The only draw back many people have with this is
the price. They can start out at around two thousand dollars and go up. Some will claim the price is worth it, as
it has the best back support, is guaranteed to have ninety percent less tossing and turning, and many doctors and
chiropractors agree these are the best.
Prices will vary considerably when buying full sizes mattresses. Depending on the type and the material it is
made of they can range from a couple hundred dollars up to the thousands. On anything the rule of thumb is you get
what you pay for. Some will opt for full sizes mattresses that are a bit over their budget, knowing it is a good
solid mattress and will last a number of years.
